Marilyn Brachman Hoffman described her charitable priorities in broad categories. She listed protecting the environment with particular emphasis on indoor and outdoor air quality, feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless in Fort Worth, Texas, medical care and medical sociology, civil liberties, and public media. Since Marilyn’s death in 2013, the Foundation has made over $15 million in grants, with over half of this supporting research on Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. The Foundation also holds a donor advised fund, which is used to conserve resources for future grantmaking in these priority areas.

Annual Grantmaking
The Foundation bases its annual grantmaking on the total value of its assets. The Foundation’s assets are managed to support grantmaking in perpetuity because the issues Marilyn cared about most require long-term engagement and investment.
